Watershed moment??
I am the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
But thats like Thomas Friedman telling the world is flat. He knows the world is not flat. but he knows the world is flatter than it ever was, and its getting more flatter.
But I still am the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be. :)

future plan status:
nice to see that disco 82 knows precisely what he wants to be: media manager.
and me? i still dont know what i want to be.
but, i would like to admit that i am in that state as a result of "luxury of choices" rather than not knowing what to do. :). state changed to "refining".

watershed moment wrt future plans:
i had my appraisal meeting with my pm(boss' boss) recently. the usual things and all that. towards the end of it. i told him this:
that i am a person who is still not sure whether i ll remain in software. I might become the next deepesh ( he is the only real god i have come across in my co. yet. ). I might not. and i told him that i am sure i ll be doing "what i love". well. i ve been telling that to everyone around. whether it does turn out to be so.. hmmm.. lets see. long time to go.
here s what boss said:
boss: nice. i would like to continue this conversation with you.
me: boss. what were the kind of things u were considering at my age?
boss: son. you are young. you have a lot of time. dont worry.
[he speaks something to the extent of him being pushed into "working in certain technologies". and him rejecting those suggestions for certain reasons.]
boss: when i was young, i wanted to go into "aeronautics".
me: boss. u mean "astronomy"???
boss: yes.
boss is pm. he ll be taking home 20+ lakhs for sure. he is around 32. just ten years older than me.
question: what more do i need in life?
lesson: here is a man who can be described as succesful. and here he is, unable to tell what exactly he wanted to be in life.
possible inference: u need not break ur head to have precise and clear cut plans to become "successful". just by maximising the opportunities that come along, u can become successful as well.
question: so why plan?
answer: the question should be changed to "what kind of things should i plan?".
precisely. i d told my elder bro. that i d be doing my own business by 28. bro told me that he d note down the number 28 and see me then.
there u go! god wont give me the spanking new idea for my business bang on 12 am april 21, 2013. i should be planning the RIGHT things. and when i plan, though there is a need for specificity, i should allow it to be flexible as well. oh well. flexibility is one of the reasons ppl plan things. cuz once u properly plan, u ll have an idea of where to change what and when. anyways.
